Mrs. Lorraine F. (Fenwick) Eck, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Wellesley, Framingham and Harpswell-by-the-Sea, Maine, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Beaumont Nursing Facility in Worcester. She was 84.
Born in Wellesley on September 30, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Cutler) Fenwick. Raised and educated in Wellesley she was a graduate of Wellesley High School. She later married George Nevin Eck Jr. after his service to the country during World War II. They lived many years in Framingham and over 30 years in Harpswell by the Sea, Brunswick, Maine before moving to Shrewsbury in March 2005.
Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for the Town of Framingham's Housing Authority for many years. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Black's Hardware in Maine.
She was an avid sports fan.
Her husband, George, died July 1, 2004 and she is also predeceased by her brother, Jack Fenwick.
She leaves her sons, Robert Fenwick Eck and his wife, Susan, of Westfield, Theodore Nevin Eck and his wife, Mellina, of Holliston and David George Eck and his wife, Deirdre, of Shrewsbury; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine's life by gathering at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton on Monday, January 7, 2013 where her graveside service will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m.
Her family extends words of thanks for all the caring staff of Beaumont Nursing Facility, especially those on the 3rd floor and its hospice team.
