Lorraine G. (Ibsen) Hayden went to be with the Lord on February 1, 2013. She was 85.
Lorriane was born on June 10, 1927 in North Haven, Connecticut, a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Hansen) Ibsen and graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven. On April 15, 1950 she married her childhood sweetheart, Clayton O. Hayden and they resided in Wallingford, Connecticut before moving to Vestal, New York in 1956 where they resided for 49 years. In 2005 they moved to be closer to their children in Massachusetts, settling at Southgate at Shrewsbury.
Lorraine was a loving Christian woman. Her faith sustained and guided her throughout her life and her church was extremely important to her. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury.
Lorraine is predeceased by her sister, Doris Bates, and brother, Donald Ibsen.
In addition to her husband of almost 63 years, Clayton, she leaves her children, Martha J. Hayden and her spouse, Rev. Meg Anzalone of Littleton, Priscilla A. Hayden-Roy and her husband, Patrick, of Lincoln, Nebraska and Clifford O. Hayden and his wife, Kim Marie Nicols, of Needham; her grandchildren, Anna Hayden-Roy, Peter Hayden-Roy, Parlee Hayden, Jenny Hayden; her siblings, Betty Thompson of Hamden, Connecticut, John Ibsen of Hamden, Connecticut and Clifford Ibsen of Huntsville; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Lorraine's life on Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Community Room at Southgate, 30 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury, where her Memorial Service will be celebrated at 1:00PM. The Rev. Eric Wefald of the First Congregational Church will officiate.
